Graduate Admissions
Master Tomorrow at UNI
We understand attending graduate school can be a big decision, but don't worry; we're here to help you on your path to success.
Admission Requirements
For full admission, Graduate Studies requires a minimum GPA of 2.75 for undergraduate coursework. Individual graduate programs may require a higher grade-point average for admission.
Applicants with a GPA below 2.75 can still be admitted with provisions, and will be reclassified as fully admitted after completing 6 credit hours of graduate coursework in their program and attaining a GPA of 3.0 or above.
English language proficiency exam scores are also required for non-native English-speaking applicants. See our International Admissions site for further details.
Transcripts
Applicants still completing their bachelor's degree may upload their own copies of their current transcripts, though these will be considered unofficial. Upon graduation, official transcripts showing degree conferral must be sent directly to the UNI Office of Admissions.
Transcripts are not considered official unless sent directly from the degree-granting university. Transcripts may be sent electronically to admissionsprocessing@uni.edu, or by mail to: Office of Admissions, 002 Gilchrist Hall, University of Northern Iowa, Cedar Falls, IA 50614-0018.
Students will not be formally declared in their major (which means Financial Aid or funding won't be disbursed to you) until final, official transcripts are on file.
