Transform your future & achieve beyond

dean waldron headshotI am excited that UNI is on your list of graduate schools. As a top-ranked regional university, UNI is committed to helping you achieve beyond your personal, professional and academic expectations. UNI will propel your journey through personalized attention by graduate faculty and impactful courses designed to give your career the edge it deserves.

You can achieve at UNI. We support you, the graduate student, at UNI. Nearly 60% of eligible graduate students received funding, such as a graduate assistantship, from the Graduate College during the 2019-2020 school year. Academically, you will have access to tutoring and writing support through free workshops and one-on-one assistance. UNI can help you with food and necessities through the Panther Pantry or connect you to mental health and wellness resources like the UNI Counseling Center and Wellness Counseling services. Last year, the Graduate College supported an interdisciplinary cohort of graduate students to find new ways to support mental health on campus. These graduate students teamed up with Active Minds to provide V-A-R training to peer mentors and other groups on campus.

Support for you in our dynamic world. Our campus is a more vibrant and creative place through a diversity of life experiences and perspectives. The Graduate College appreciates, honor, and respects the similarities and differences each of you bring to campus. Together, as a community of individuals, we provide a learning environment that will prepare you for a dynamic, interconnected world.

Create your distinction. Your graduate education is a challenging and magical time. I hope you follow in the steps of current UNI students like Shehreen or alumni like accomplished advocate Dr. Belinda Creighton-Smith, award-winning educator Dr. Jennifer Stimpson and Waterloo mayor Quentin Hart. Like them, your time at UNI will equip you to achieve beyond.
