Key decisions have been made about the Fall 2020 schedule of classes. The first day of the semester is Monday, August 17th and the last day of  finals is Wednesday, November 25th. The Graduate College has consulted with units across campus to compile guidance tailored to our International Graduate Students. We will continue to communicate with students throughout the summer as decisions are made, and information will be updated here.

Latest Update (July 14, 2020)

On July 14, 2020, the previous directive requiring international students to leave the United States unless they are enrolled in face-to-face classes was rescinded.  More information will be updated as it becomes available.

If International students can make it to UNI's campus

  • UNI classes will begin on August 17. See here for more details and key dates for the fall semester. 

If International students cannot make it to UNI's campus

  • Online classes may not be offered for most degree programs; therefore, students may be unable to enroll in classes.
  • Visa status:
    • Students won't be able to maintain current F-1 status if they do not sustain a full-time course load. Inform the ISSO to update your immigration status.
    • As long as students remain in their home countries, they are not required to pay health insurance.
  • Students will not receive GA and/or TS for Fall 2020 due to visa and enrollment status. Thus, GA and TS offers need to be declined.
