Kirmani reported that the Mathematics Department had submitted a revised proposal which had been strengthened and included revised course justifications. This revised proposal addressed the concerns of the Graduate College Curriculum Committee and so was now acceptable to the Committee. Chao moved acceptance of the revised proposal from Mathematics Education. Motion was seconded and passed.
Haack thanked the Graduate Council and the Graduate College Curriculum Committee for the opportunity to work with them. Simet expressed the thanks of the Council to members of the Graduate College Curriculum Committee. He said that there would be discussion at a later meeting concerning formalization of the process of selection of members to the Graduate College Curriculum Committee as a late appointment led to a shortened time frame for the Committee to do its work.
Somervill distributed copies of proposed revisions to the graduate grievance procedure which parallel changes made in the undergraduate grievance procedure. He will see if Barbara Lounsberry will be available to discuss changes at the undergraduate level.
Kirmani moved to adjourn. Motion was seconded and passed. Meeting adjourned at 4:00 p.m.
