Alex Billman
Secretary II
Alex performs a variety of tasks for Graduate Studies, including (but not limited to) faculty and student awards processing, social media management, front-facing support for the office, thesis and dissertation review, and financial aid disbursement work for incoming graduate students. He works to assist anyone that may need assistance both in and out of an office setting.

Research interest
My passion has always been within history and how the world inner connects with historiography aspects throughout time. Being able to show the connections today with aspects of life that happened centuries ago shows the huge advancement of our cultures and societal aspects and being able to combine these ideologies within an aspect of student success.
My research interests focus on early 20th century American history, primarily within Iowa and the Midwest during the Spanish Flu pandemic along with the interconnected impacts of World War I along with the advancement of modern medicine within the early 20th century.
