SUPPORT CHILDREN IN A RANGE OF SETTINGS

The MAE program in Special Education is designed to prepare students to enhance access to the general education curriculum. Throughout the program, your coursework will equip you to serve in many roles and responsibilities within schools, such as teaching students, collaborating with families and other personnel, and supporting children in a range of different school and community settings. You’ll learn to work with others to make a difference for students who display a wide variety of strengths, needs, and challenges. Due to a shortage of special education teachers in Iowa and many other states, 100% of our graduates find teaching positions within a year after graduation.
