Creative Performances

Creative Performance Schedule

12:00-2:00 PM

Maucker Union Ballroom 

Creative Performances can include Original Composition such as creative writing and musical composition or Performance of Work by Another Author such as performing an aria composed by Brahms. At least 4 participants must be registered in order for this category to be presented.

Creative Performers Reads Creative Writing Piece

General Guidelines:
  • Possible live performances include musical, theatrical, dance, film, media and readings of creative writing and poetry.
  • Length of the performance is strictly limited to no more than 15 minutes.
  • Performers must be available for any of the time slots within the two hour time frame.
  • All performers must to check in at the Registration Table located in lobby of the Maucker Union Ballroom by 11:30 AM.
  • An optional practice date and time prior to the event will be scheduled.
Who Are The Judges For The Symposium?

UNI graduate faculty serve as judges for the Creative Performances at the Symposium. 

Symposium Scholarship Awards 
  • 1st Place: $300
  • 2nd Place: $200

Awarding of prizes in all categories is at the judges' discretion and the judges reserve the right to not award a prize.
